The watersports version of a ski resort, Velocity Island Park brings wakeboarding to the masses — without the need of an expensive, gas-guzzling boat. Family friendly and extremely fun, Velocity Island Park caters to riders of all ages and ability levels, making it the perfect place to beat the summer heat, escape the Bay Area fog, or travel to for an exciting getaway — all year long!
Featuring state-of-the-art, eco-friendly technology, Velocity Island Park makes wakeboarding more accessible than ever, and far easier to learn than traditional, behind-a-boat wakeboarding. Utilizing the world’s greenest and most efficient wakeboarding technology, Velocity Island Park’s three cable systems operate via electric motor, emitting zero pollution.
If you like snowboarding, you’ll love cable wakeboarding at Velocity Island Park, for it’s easier to learn, a shorter drive, and a whole lot more affordable than an expedition into the snow-laden mountains. Plus, the skills you develop will crossover to snowboarding, as well as surfing, kiteboarding, kitesurfing, skateboarding, traditional wakeboarding, and any other boardsport.
As the premiere cable wakeboarding park on the West Coast, Velocity Island Park is located 15 minutes northwest of Sacramento, California, a short 1.5 hours from San Francisco, 2 hours from Lake Tahoe, and a mere 12 miles from Sacramento International Airport. Located right off of I-5 in the historic town of Woodland, CA, Velocity Island Park has a number of places to stay nearby, including hotels right across the street.
Featuring a full-sized cable system that spins clockwise, our main attraction is installed in a 9-acre, man-made lake and can tow up to six people at a time. With an island in the middle and perfectly angled shorelines, bumpy water rapidly dissipates at the water park, ensuring a world-class ride through the smooth, idyllic conditions.
The water park also features the largest wakeboarding beginners’ area in California, where first-time riders can graduate to the full-sized cable in as little as 20 minutes. The 3-acre lake features two System 2.0 setups, making it the perfect place to master wakeboarding basics, prepare for the main cable, and host a birthday or corporate party. Participants ride one at a time in this area, and instruction is included. Private instruction, week-long Kids Camps, After-School Wakeboarding Camps, and After-School Activities are available as well.

If you’re new to the sport, or don’t have your own wakeboarding gear yet, don’t worry. Velocity Island Park has an array of rental gear readily available, the wakeboard shop is fully stocked with beginner to pro-level wakeboarding equipment, along with clothing, swimwear, sunglasses, accessories, and more.
