What You'll Do

The vibe at Costa Fuego is casual, fast-paced, and fun. Here is what to expect.

Costa Fuego sits right on the lake with open-air seating and views of the aqua park. The energy is contagious. Families come in sandy and sunburned, groups celebrate after a wakeboard session, and the patio fills up on warm evenings with people ordering cocktails and watching the sunset over the water.

In the kitchen, you will be prepping sushi rolls, firing up tacos, plating wood-fired dishes, and keeping up with the lunch and dinner rushes that come with a busy summer park. On the floor, you will be taking orders, running food, mixing drinks, and making sure every guest feels taken care of.

It is fast and it is physical, but the atmosphere makes it worth it. You are not stuck in a strip mall restaurant. You are working lakeside at a water park, and your coworkers are just as stoked to be here as you are. Plus, the food is genuinely good.

Open Positions

We are building the Costa Fuego team for the 2026 season. Multiple roles available.

Sushi Chef

Run the sushi station at Costa Fuego. Roll sushi to order, prepare nigiri and sashimi, break down fresh fish, and own the station during lunch and dinner service. This is a specialty role for someone with real sushi experience who wants to spend the summer working lakeside.

Line Cook

Work the line during service. You will be cooking tacos, wood-fired entrees, and the rest of the menu in a fast-paced kitchen during peak summer hours. The crew is tight and the food is creative. Prior kitchen experience is a plus, but we will train the right person.

Kitchen Prep

Entry-level kitchen role. Wash, chop, and portion produce and proteins, stock the line before service, and back up the cooks during the rush. No experience needed. This is one of the best ways to break into a restaurant kitchen with a real path to the line.

Server / Bartender

Take care of guests on the patio and at the bar. Servers handle orders, deliver food, and keep tables happy. Bartenders mix cocktails, pour beers, and serve drinks at the lakefront bar. Great tips during busy summer weekends. Because we serve alcohol with food, all servers must be 18 or older. Bartenders must be 21 or older.

Host / Busser

Welcome guests, manage the seating flow, and keep the dining area clean and ready for the next table. This is a great entry-level restaurant role. You will learn the basics of hospitality while working in one of the best settings in the Sacramento area.

Kitchen Manager

Run the kitchen. Oversee food prep, manage the line during service, handle inventory and ordering, maintain health and safety standards, and lead the kitchen team. This is a leadership role for someone with restaurant management experience who wants to spend the summer lakeside.

What We're Looking For

Experience is great, but attitude and work ethic matter most.

Food Handler Card

Required for all restaurant positions. If you do not have one yet, we will help you get it before the season starts. It is quick and easy.

Age Requirements

Kitchen prep, line cook, and host/busser roles are open to anyone 16 and older. Servers must be 18+ because we serve alcohol. Bartenders must be 21+ per California law.

Team Player

The restaurant gets busy. You need to work well with others, communicate clearly, and stay calm when the patio is packed and orders are flying.

On Your Feet

Restaurant work is physical. You will be standing, walking, and carrying trays for the duration of your shift. Be ready to move.
