Fall Weekends at Velocity Island (2026): Hours, Key Dates, and What's Open
Yes, Velocity Island is open this fall. The park runs weekends through Saturday, October 31, 2026, then Saturdays through the winter, and fall is one of the best times of year to be on the lake: warm afternoons, shorter lines, and the whole beach to spread out on. Here is everything you need to plan a fall day, including the dates that matter most.
Fall hours
- Saturdays and Sundays, 12pm to 6pm from September 28 through October 31 (swim beach, paddle boarding, and wakeboarding). This Sunday, September 27, runs 12pm to 7pm.
- Friday, September 25, 12pm to 7pm, is the last Friday of the season, with the last Friday night wakeboarding session and beach bonfires of the year. From September 28 the park is open Saturdays and Sundays only.
- Aqua Park: Saturdays and Sundays, 12pm to 5pm, with the last 50-minute session at 4pm.
- Costa Fuego, the lakefront restaurant, is open Thursday through Sunday for lunch and dinner: Thursday 11:30am to 6pm, Friday 11:30am to 8pm, Saturday 11:30am to 7pm, Sunday 11:30am to 6pm. See costafuego.com.
- From November: Saturdays, 12pm to 5pm.

Dates to know
- Friday, September 25: the last Friday of the season, with night wakeboarding and beach bonfires.
- Saturday, September 26: closed to the public for a private event, with one exception: Fallapalooza, a public Aqua Park session at 6pm.
- Saturday, October 3: closed to the public for a private event. Open again Sunday, October 4.
- Sunday, October 11: the Aqua Park's final day of the 2026 season. After that the rest of the park keeps running on weekends.
- Saturday, October 17: open until 6pm, but not all activities will be running (there is a private event that evening).
- Saturday, October 31: the last day of fall weekends. From November the park is open Saturdays, 12pm to 5pm.
Last call for the Aqua Park
The Aqua Park, Yolo County's largest floating obstacle course, has only a handful of public days left: September 27, October 4, October 10, and October 11, plus the special Fallapalooza evening session at 6pm on Saturday, September 26. Sessions are 50 minutes, life jackets are provided and required, and swimmers need to be at least 6 years old. Why fall is great for wakeboarding
Fall is a favorite season for riders. The heat breaks, the lake is calmer, and weekend afternoons are less crowded than in July. Our cable wakeboard park sells non-timed two-hour passes: your two hours start when you take your first pull off the dock, so there is no scheduled slot to race to. First time? A slower beach day
The swim beach and paddle boarding run all fall weekend. With the summer crowds gone, it is the easiest time of year to grab a beach site for a family afternoon or a small birthday. Fall birthday parties are still available on weekends through October. See birthday party packages.
Stay for dinner
End the day at Costa Fuego, on the deck over the water, with wood-fired pizza, sushi, and a full bar. Sunset comes earlier in the fall, which means dinner lines up with the best light of the day over the lake. No park ticket is needed to eat at the restaurant.
